This post is from Lindsey. I'm just typing--Tam (Yes she got an A+ Big Grin)

I wrote this for my World Literature class its a lyric poem and hope you all like it for my Thank You. I can not express how much I appreciate this auction and all of your kind donations. Words don't even touch the issue. During the process of writing this poem I realized that thanks is owed to several parties. Thank You All Again.
Lindsey

Thank You

Thank you oh Creator for the creation of the goat,
before them I was a lost child without oars or boat.
I didn't fit into social events anywhere,
I hid in a hole like a frightened hare.
At the mention of a speech,
My only thought was "mercy please...I beseech!"
Through 4-H I have made new friends,
a support system that I hope will last until the world ends.
My goats have caused my horizons to broaden,
one look and I am no longer downtrodden.
These beings are more than just creatures,
my goats are also my friends and my teachers.
I have witnessed birth.
I've said goodbye for now to those that have left this earth.
When one is going down a rough road,
the forum goes into "help out" mode.
Seriously THANK YOU to all those guys and gals'
no one has a better set of pals.
Spring is everything.
This is the season when new life and hope start to sing.
A newborn kid is the worlds best gift,
watching them play causes the soul to bound and lift.
There are few who understand,
when a doe is born those on the forum tend to strike up the band.
Some goats are like the Brain while others are like Pinky,
They are stubborn not not that stinky.
Goats provide milk, cashmere, and meat,
these animals can withstand freezing winters and searing heat.
A car is what most teenagers desire,
what I wanted was a herd sire.
A few bags of grain and a stack of hay,
these are gold and silver in their way.
I love the show ring
one never knows what the competition will bring.
My family, my friends, and my animals are what I hold dear,
with them at my side there's nothing to fear.
When I disclose my hobbies most give me a weird look,
I admit I am proud to be the odd book.
Go to the barnyard if you need me,
no place in the world I'd rather be.

Me back again,
I have to say guys...I got a bit choked up typing this out. She really does love every part of the goat world including DGI. What a great bunch of folks Hand Clap Yes  Sniffle Tam

Beautiful, Lindsey!  Smiley  I feel pretty rotten that I wasn't able to participate in the auction.  I thought I had a few decent things worth selling, but when I really looked at them, I didn't think they would be.  I'm super thrilled with the results of everyone else's participation, though!
